John Comitis has confirmed his takeover of the Mpumalanga based outfit, Mpumalanga Black Aces, and he is planning to relocate the club to the Mother City. According to, Comitis, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has sanctioned the deal.

Comitis is the member of the PSL executive committee and the founding member of Ajax Cape Town. Comitis told IOL "Yes, I have purchased the club (Black Aces). There are no final decisions yet as to what I will do. I have much to consider and will only do so on my return to the country. The PSL has already sanctioned the deal."

Amazayoni have performed way beyond expectations under the tutelage of former Urban Warriors boss Mushin Ertugral, finishing fourth in the Premiership standings, but their financial struggles have been evident.
His plans to relocate the club can be delayed by the Premier Soccer League rulings. The league rulings state that after a takeover, relocation may only take place after one full season. This means Amazayoni will still be placed in Mpumalanga next season.

It's likely that Comitis is looking to develop a club that will rival Ajax Cape Town - him and his brother George acrimoniously left the Urban Warriors, selling their shares to the Efstathiou family after numerous fall-outs over the club's future.






Now, the former FC Cape Town technical director confirms they want to tap into the talent pool of the Western Cape and help develop players who want to move to Europe.

"There are five NFD clubs and one PSL club in the Cape. To have a healthy football environment in the city, it's imperative that we have another one or two at the highest level. It's a necessity for the abundance of talented young Cape players to have something to aim at. The more PSL clubs we have, the more opportunities there are for youngsters to play in the top flight, and thereby have the chance to make it in Europe."
