Platinum Stars have parted ways with the fan favourite
Masibusane Zongo while Mbongeni Mzimela and Kulegani Madondo were issued with fines and final written warnings for misconduct, the club said in statement on Friday.

“Midfielder Zongo’s dismissal comes after he appeared before the club’s disciplinary committee, along with goalkeeper Mzimela and midfielder Madondo after they conducted themselves in manner that is deemed improper by the club. Out of respect to the parties involved, the club is not at liberty to disclose the nature of the misconduct of the three players. Consequently the three players were found guilty.”

After the club held disciplinary hearings against Mzimela, Madondo and Zongo, recommendations were made.
The chairperson of the disciplinary furnished Platinum Stars Football Club with his findings and recommendations on sanction.

The chairperson found the three players guilty and recommended a final written warning and a monetary fine in respect of Mr Mzimela; a warning and monetary fine in respect of Mr Madondo and dismissal in respect of Mr Zongo,” the club said on their official website.

“Platinum Stars Football Club takes matters of discipline seriously and has welcomed and accepted the findings and the recommendations of the chairperson. Consequently, Mr Mzimela and Mr Madondo have been issued with written warnings and fined as recommended by the chairperson.

"Mr Zongo’s employment has been terminated with immediate effect as recommended by the chairperson. Out of respect for the rights of the individuals involved, Platinum Stars Football Club will not disclose the monetary fines imposed on Mr Mzimela and Mr Madondo nor make any further comments on this matter,” said Stars general manager Senzo Mazingiza.

“We would like to thank Mr Zongo for his contribution to the club and wish him well in his future endeavors. We hope for improvement in all aspects from Mr Mzimela and Mr Madondo. Platinum Stars is bigger than all of us. It’s important that we do our best to serve the interests of the club and conduct ourselves in manner that contributes to the growth of the brand that is Platinum Stars Football Club. It is incumbent upon us, from the management, the technical team, and the players to everyone on the employ of Platinum Stars to always adhere to conduct that is responsible and above board.”

Despite these developments, coach Cavin Johnson and the rest of the team are focused on doing well in the Absa Premiership.

“We would like to assure our supporters that it’s all systems go for our game against Orlando Pirates next week Monday. We urge them to come in numbers and rally behind the team as they have done throughout the season,” said Mazingiza.
