Al Ahly is beatable
By Malose Wa Ga Lamola
Mamelodi Sundowns is set to lock horns with the- Egyptian giants Al Ahly in a highly anticipated Caf Champions League first leg quarter-finals clash at- Lucas Moripe Stadium in Tshwane.
Sundowns is arguably going into this encounter as favourites- given their good run at home in the group stages. The Brazilians boasts a hundred percent win record at home. The Tshwane giants won all their three Caf Champions League home games on their own backyard to book a spot in the quarter-finals. Their visitors have had it hard on the road. Al Ahly has managed to secure a single point away from home- something Sundowns will surely capitalise on. With Ahly being bad travellers- one can't take away the fact that- they know how to handle pressure away from their familiar surroundings.
Sundowns mentor- Pitso Mosimane- has alluded to the fact that his side always has a goal at home. In his words Pitso said that- you can bully them anywhere but not- in Atteredgeville. With Sundowns being so territorial and facing a side that has a bad away record- the Patrice Motsepe owned club can easily beat Ahly at home.
Although two-legged fixtures are a bit tricky but Mosimane has seen this movie before and knows how to box in these encounters. It will be naïve of Mosimane's side to take a team of the century lightly. Sundowns knows how difficult it is to play in front of full houses in this tournament. Getting the twelfth man in the stands is what Sundowns will need to create a more hostile situation for Ahly. A win at home will boasts Sundowns chances of making it through to the semi-finals.
Statistics never lie. Sundowns has an upper hand in this first leg of the two legged Caf Champions League encounter.

Playing at home is always an advantage,Downs have a golden opportunity to play at home first and set the tone for the two legged encounter.
ReplyDeleteWe need not to be scored and we need to beat this team with high margin of goals
ReplyDeletePerson like Laffor combination of Zwane and Thapelo Morena can help us a lot!
Another thing is that we need to keep a ball to our feed as much as we can mean we have to play shoe shine and piano!
That way we will make them scared and they will make many mistake, then we capitalize there
