Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Pitso 'Jingles' Mosimane, is arguably one of the most successful coaches in South Africa.
Mosimane began his Premier Soccer League coaching career with the Tshwane giants, Supersport United, from (1July 2001– 30 June 2007). 'Jingles' as he is affectionately known has won the SAA Super 8 (2004) and the Absa Cup (2005) with Matsatsantsa a Pitori.
He then joined Bafana Bafana as the assistant coach between 2007 and 2010. He was handed the Bafana Bafana head coach position on the 15th of July 2010. Mosimane served as Bafana coach until June 2012.
Because of less success with the national team, 'Jingles', had no choice but to switch back to club level.
Mosimane joined Mamelodi Sundowns in late 2012 following the departure of Dutch legend, Johan Neeskens, who failed to win a single piece of silverware with the Chloorkop based outfit. Neeskens led Sundowns to two cup finals, the Nedbank Cup (lost 2-0 to Supersport United) and Telkom Knockout (lost 1-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic) but was unfortunate to win neither of them.
Mosimane then joined Sundowns on the 02nd of December 2012, less than 24 hours, following the defeat to Bloemfontein Celtic in the Telkom Knockout. 'Jingles' rescued Sundowns from the relegation zone that season. Mosimane ended Mamelodi Sundowns' seven year title drought when he guided them to the 2014/15 league title victory.
Bafana ba Style then went on to clinch the Nedbank Cup and the Telkom Knockout titles under the supervion of Mosimane. 'Jingles' added a league championship in his medals collection when he guided Sundowns to their second league victory in three seasons (2014/15). The first black South African coach to lead a team to a league title victory. The second coach to win double league titles with Sundowns. By winning league twice with Sundowns; Pitso; repeated what Ted Dumitru has done, although Ted has won it back to back (97/98 & 98/99) Pitso is up there with the best.
The only coach to have ever defeated Kaizer Chiefs in a cup final as a Sundowns coach something that his predecessors, Trott Moloto, Gordon Igesund, Ted Dumitru and Clemens Westerhof all failed to do.
It has not been a smooth sailing for Mosimane at a star studded Sundowns. As the saying goes: There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Before winning his second league title with, the Patrice Motsepe owned club, Sundowns fans were gunning for his head as they were weeping over club's performance. The #PitsoMustFall campaign started on the 12th of September when he suffered a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Golden Arrows. Although Sundowns played it low their supporters continued to call for his resignation. Mosimane was escorted out of the Lucas 'Masterpieces' Moripe by his players and the South African Police Service.

The outspoken Sundowns mentor has won every trophy on offer in the country as a coach. Individually he has won all domestic trophies available. Since joining Sundowns the MTN8 trophy (Top 8 tournament) and the Champions League title have eluded him. The Kagiso born coach is on the brink of adding both titles to his accolades as he will be contesting in the semi-finals of both competitions.
Mosimane is now sitting on 199 club victories and seeking to make a double century wins. Pitso can make his 200th club victory when he travels to Zambia to honour his Caf Champions League fixture against Zesco United. Sundowns will then face Chippa United in the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final at Locas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
Pitso's clean sweep.
