'Ntofotofo' struck his 100th Premier Soccer League goal.

The Zambian was on target to hand the Lions of the North an equaliser which cancelled out Lebohang Manyama’s opener in an entertaining Absa Premiership clash played at the
Makhulong Stadium settle for a point as they drew 1-1 with visitors Cape Town City at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Tuesday night.

Mbesuma, was credited at the weekend with a century of goals but still one shy going into Tuesday night’s encounter against the newly bought Cape Town City FC, he has hit a sweet left footed shot on the half volley in the 71st minute to join an elite club in South African soccer.

Mbesuma helped Kaizer Chiefs to a back-to-back league victory in 2004/05 season as he netted a record 25 league goals and 35 in all competitions. He won the golden boot for the second time when he banged 14 goals for Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2015/16 season. His predatory instincts is different from other strikers as South African strikers usually find it hard to hit the target.

It was a trademark goal from the chubby Zambian who needed just half a chance for another poacher’s effort despite the rainy conditions.

‘Ntofontofo’ has moved even closer to the all-time PSL top scorer Siyabonga Nomvete’s goal tally of 119 goals.

Mbesuma is trailing behind: Siyabonga Nomvete (119)
Daniel Mudau (108)
Mabhuti Khenyeza (106)
Tico-Tico Bucuane (104)

Nomvethe and Khenyeza are the only other two players on the list to have reached a century of goals and still be playing, with both of them turning out for Usuthu in the NFD.

The podgy striker scored his first goal in his Kaizer Chiefs debut on 6 March 2004, when he scored in a 3-1 victory over Black Leopards. He went to score 37 goals in 46 starts with The Galmour Boys.
