Second chance for a remorseful Bibo

By Malose Wa Ga Lamola

Not all those who wonder are lost. It needed a stroke of luck for the former Orlando Pirates star midfielder, Thandani Ntshumayelo to revive his football career.

After his dosing the 28-year old passed positive for cocaine. The Premier Soccer League allows only passes but puffs are against the league's set of rules. His tipsy mood was then replaced by a real hefty ban of four years from the beautiful game. Following his ban it was expected of Orlando Pirates to cut ties with Ntshumayelo.

Pirates terminated 'Bibo's’ contract with immediate effect. Things were falling apart for the then 26-year old star. Ntshumayelo was oblivious of what lies ahead. It is true that your actions today will be your biography tomorrow.

When Ntshumayelo's world dimmed out reality stroke and lost some of his valuable assets including Mercedes Benz CLA and some people he trusted left. Time flies when you are with your dear ones but with time you realise who is dear to you.

This has to be one of the lessons Bibo has learned. Bibo has a big heart and he never let go of the ball that easily. He is a real fighter in the middle of the park. It required the same attitude and fighting spirit to revive his career.

Although he nearly gave up his football career and stopped training, he never stopped challenging for his ban to be uplifted. After a heavy storm comes sunshine.

Ntshumayelo has won again but this time not on the turf as he is familiar with. His shorts and boots were left behind a locker substituted with a suit and tie. No open ended questions were asked but judicial jargons are the order of the day.

Following his hard fought victory Ntshumayelo can smell the grass of soccer turfs in the not so distant future. There are unrevealed PSL and National First Division teams who are after Bibo's bold signature.

Bibo should stick to passes and leave puffs to the Cape flats gangsters - Sexy boys and 28s....
